For our June Investment Update, Dolfin’s Head of Investment Management Simon Black will be joined by James Gutman, Partner at Philipp Advisors, to dive into the global oil market and its recent movements.
James Gutman has nearly twenty years of experience in the commodities space in a variety of roles. He is a Partner at Philipp Advisors, a commodities hedge fund, where he is the Head of Trading. James began his career at Ford Motor Company, where he was a Senior Economist and Manager of global commodities hedging. He later went to Goldman Sachs, where he was an Executive Director and Senior Commodities Economist. At Armajaro Asset Management, James was a Partner and commodities portfolio manager. He then went to BTG as a portfolio manager and established the metals derivatives trading desk. Most recently, James was founder and CIO for Lens Capital Management. James holds a PhD in Political Science and Master’s Degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
