Richard joined Dolfin in October 2018 from ACPI Investment Managers in London, where he was responsible for ACPI’s institutional client base and product offerings. He was also the Chair of ACPI’s southern-African business with a broad range of business and local regulatory responsibilities.
Before ACPI, Richard was at Credit Suisse where he was the head of the Special Situations team and co-head of the Multi-Asset Group. Prior to that, Richard was an investment analyst at Credit Suisse and UBS. He managed the utilities research franchise at Credit Suisse and was co-head of UBS’s top-ranked utilities equity research team. Previously, he was co-head of UBS’s software & services equity research team.
As an institutional portfolio manager with Threadneedle Investment Managers, Richard was the portfolio manager of a £500m+ equity fund which was actively invested in UK small- and mid-cap growth companies.
As an investment banker at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell (subsequently Deutsche Bank) Richard provided investment banking advice for major public and private companies.
Prior to a career in financial services, Richard was an officer in the British Army, where he gained extensive operational experience globally in both combat and peace-keeping roles.
Richard has an LLB (in Laws) from King’s College, London University, where he also won a Hardwicke Scholarship to Lincoln’s Inn.
