Senior Portfolio Manager

Adrian van den Bok

Biography

Adrian has over 20 years of cross-asset experience as a strategist and proprietary trader, within banks and hedge funds, with particular emphasis on the use of options to enhance risk-return profiles. He has developed and honed both a variety of alpha generating strategies and a robust portfolio risk management methodology, as well as designing and implementing a range of option based strategies to leverage returns of analyst driven positions.

Adrian then joined the Risk Trading desk at ABN-AMRO, where he ran an equity, cash and derivatives proprietary-trading book in excess of EUR 100 million, applying directional macro and capital-structure-arbitrage (CSA) strategies. Later still, he joined the bank’s Relative Value desk in Amsterdam, trading a book in excess of EUR 500 million, focusing predominantly on CSA, cross-currency relative-value bond arbitrage, and directional macro trades, most of which he developed via his own proprietary models.

After ABN-AMRO, Adrian joined TD Securities to set up an equity proprietary-trading desk, and was subsequently taken on by HIG Brightpoint Capital as a member of the Investment Committee, working with the portfolio manager to generate cross-asset macro-driven strategies and also to enhance in-house risk management and hedging via equity options, index futures, sector swaps and CDS.
